Stamping with Kids! Moving Along Stamp Set

This is my little stamper, Felix 😍 and he wants to show you one of our sets that is great fun for kids (and parents) - Moving Along stamp set!


What I love about this set is that you can stamp an outline in black ink, then choose any colour and stamp over the top with it - then you have a perfectly coloured image. You also have the option of doing some colouring-in of the outline images. In my other life, I'm a Family Support Worker who provides support for families to encourage development through play and activities and there are so many benefits of stamping together for development!

* Fine motor skills

* Hand-eye coordination

* Imaginative play

* Learning about vehicles and colours

* Parent-child bonding


Here are my tips for stamping with a child:

* Stamp on a surface that is ok to get a bit of ink on - we have plastic over the table so we can craft there
* Wear clothes that you are ok to get a little messy - sometimes he wears a smock to protect his clothes
* Teach your child how to stamp - for example, don't squeeze down on the ink pads, just jump the stamp on top. My little stamper has been stamping for a while so he knows what to do (with help), but the first instinct for them is to explore by getting their hands in!
* Only have the ink open that you are using - less chance of putting an elbow in it!
* Keep some baby wipes on hand
* Let them guide what you do! Sometimes he just wants to free-stamp, so I just help with mounting the stamps and opening the ink pads. Other times he wants help to make a scene on the page, so that's what we do!
* Take opportunities for learning - ask "what colour should we use next?" "how many cars are there?" 
* Praise and encourage "what beautiful purple clouds you made!"






* My last tip is to use the ink spots! My little stamper is using the big ones, but he has been stamping for a while and knows what to do. But new little stampers will make less mess with the little ones. You can get a range of beautiful bright colours in the ink spots by clicking on the image:

Stampin' Up! One Sheet Wonder - Paper Blooms

  I made 14 beautiful cards from 1 sheet of 12"x12" (31.5cmx31.5cm) Designer Series Paper! And guess what! I got the whole stack of Designer Series Paper for free!! In the month of February, if you spend $90 or more, you can choose a free item (and this is one of the options!). I designed a breakdown of the sheet of DSP to suit Australian card sizes, and so that nothing goes to waste. I then layered each piece with some Night of Navy cardstock by adding 3mm to each measurement (that way, just a peak of colour borders the design piece).  The cute little butterflies come from the Floating & Fluttering set - it has a big stamp as part of the set that has a college of butterflies and leaves, that matches with a die in the coordinating set. I stamped 4 of these and cut them out in a flash! ...and I used all of them across the 14 cards as a feature. I used a combination of sentiments from other sets (see full list below). Stampin' Up! Butterfly Brilliance - Thanks Card

  There's a beautiful new bundle available called Butterfly Brilliance, which includes a stamp set, dies, some designer series paper, and some specialty paper: Today I want to show you a card I made using the beautiful dies from this bundle - There are 6 large butterfly dies, that have an extra die to cut out a detailed overlay, which is featured in my card today. The background is made with vellum, layered onto some white cardstock. I then used a variety of Stampin' Blends to colour the vellum, starting with the darker of the blues and working out. I then flecked it with some isopropyl alcohol to make the bubbly look. Once properly dry, I used the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to lay out a line of adhesive and stuck the Gilded Leafing Embellishment on top of it, pressing it down on the glue, then rubbing off the excess. Crazy Crafters Swaps - 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue

  It's swaps time again! For those of you who don't know, I'm part of the Crazy Crafters Team, and for each new catalogue, we will do "swaps" where we each make 10 of the same card, and send them off to our team leader, who mixes them up and sends us 10 different cards back. I love it because I get to see the creativity of my peers, but also some new sets that I may not have considered before :) This is the card I made and sent to my peers using the Expressions in Ink suite of products - I used some of the designer series paper to layer underneath and used the large die cut in Basic White, and made a white layer with a circle shape cut out. The sentiment was stamped in white embossing onto Basic Black cardstock and cut around the edge, then finished it with some Matte Black Dots.
