Stampin' Up! Christmas - Crackers!

Who doesn't love a Christmas cracker?? In Australia, it is an integral part of our Christmas meal - a terrible joke, a paper crown and a useless piece of plastic.... well I don't like the useless piece of plastic that ends up in the bin at the end of the day! So for the last few years, I've made my own 😀

As Christmas approaches, I hold onto our toilet paper rolls and then select a Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper to make them pretty! This year, I'm using Snowflake Splendor DSP - it's so beautiful that I didn't feel the need to decorate them any more than just this lovely paper!

I chose to use two different ribbons as well - the Pool Party Sheer Ribbon, and the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, coloured with Purple Posy Blends Markers.

Here's what you'll need:

  • White paper measuring 30cm x 14cm
  • Toilet paper roll (+ 2 spare)
  • Decorative paper measuring 10cm x 15cm (most craft papers come as 12"x12" so you can cut this into 6"x4" pieces to get 6 from one sheet)
  • Ribbon for bows
  • A cracker "snap" (you can get these from Spotlight)
  • Tear & Tape (double-sided tape)
  • Stampin' Seal + (strong tape runner)
And for the inside:
  • Paper crown (check out my video to see how these are made with tissue paper)
  • Bad Christmas jokes (there are heaps of printables on Pinterest)
  • A gift (I used chocolates - saves on unnecessary plastic!)
  • A rubber band to hold together

For extra sustainability, I gather the ribbons and rubber bands at the end to re-use, and the rest is recyclable!
