Stampin' Up! Pretty Perennials - Happy Card
Sometimes I like to spend a lot of time on a card to create a little piece of art! And I have been so keen to play with the new Gilded Gold Leaf - it creates a beautiful and sparkly affect on the card (and on my heart 😍).
I used a sheet of the Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper for this and for the flowers and leaves I inked-up (stamp off once for the smaller flowers), and then sprayed with water using the Spritzer before stamping down - this gives a nice watercolour effect. I used my water painter to draw in some leaf veins while the ink was still wet after stamping, and drew some scattered dots with the water painter and some ink that had been pressed onto a block.
To use the Gilded Leafing, ink in Versamark, cover with Heat & Stick Powder, heat with a heat gun to make it sticky, and apply the leafing. A couple of tips for the Gilded Leafing..
* If you are stamping over other inked surfaces, especially watercolour, make sure to allow it to fully dry.
* Get the leafing on as quickly as possible after you heat the powder.
* Rub with your finger after you have covered your sticky section until all the excess has been removed and the leafing is covering every sticky bit.
* It's a little messy! So be prepared for that with paper under your work.
* I used a dry paint brush to brush some of the excess off too, this was particularly helpful with the inside of the flowers.
It's a little fiddly, but oh so worth it!
