Stampin' Up! Pretty Perennials - Happy Card

Image
Sometimes I like to spend a lot of time on a card to create a little piece of art! And I have been so keen to play with the new Gilded Gold Leaf - it creates a beautiful and sparkly affect on the card (and on my heart 😍). I used a sheet of the Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper for this and for the flowers and leaves I inked-up (stamp off once for the smaller flowers), and then sprayed with water using the Spritzer before stamping down - this gives a nice watercolour effect. I used my water painter to draw in some leaf veins while the ink was still wet after stamping, and drew some scattered dots with the water painter and some ink that had been pressed onto a block. To use the Gilded Leafing, ink in Versamark, cover with Heat & Stick Powder, heat with a heat gun to make it sticky, and apply the leafing. A couple of tips for the Gilded Leafing.. * If you are stamping over other inked surfaces, especially watercolour, make sure to allow it to fully dry. * Get the leafing on as quick...

Stampin' Up! Pretty Perennials - Birthday Card

Image
So pretty!!!! This was my favourite set that caught my eye in the new Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue (Jan-Jun 2021) - and it's available right now! This set is one that I chose to buy because of the beautiful card in the catalogue, so I had a go at it, and added my own twist 😊 This is a lovely set for background stamping (no, that's not DSP!) - the stamps have all you need to create a beautiful background to use as a base for your card. Here I've had my first play with the new Gilded Gold Leafing, my goodness it's beautiful! And so easy to use! I took my versamark pad and swiped it across the cardstock and covered it with the new Heat & Stick Powder. I used a regular small paintbrush to wipe off a little of the powder so that it wasn't a neat rectangle, but more of a messy look, then set it with me Heat Tool. The powder gets sticky once heated, so I then covered it with the gold leafing and brushed off the excess. One of the focal pieces of this set is that ...

Stampin' Up! Christmas - Crackers!

Image
Who doesn't love a Christmas cracker?? In Australia, it is an integral part of our Christmas meal - a terrible joke, a paper crown and a useless piece of plastic.... well I don't like the useless piece of plastic that ends up in the bin at the end of the day! So for the last few years, I've made my own 😀 As Christmas approaches, I hold onto our toilet paper rolls and then select a Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper to make them pretty! This year, I'm using Snowflake Splendor DSP - it's so beautiful that I didn't feel the need to decorate them any more than just this lovely paper! I chose to use two different ribbons as well - the Pool Party Sheer Ribbon, and the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, coloured with Purple Posy Blends Markers.  Here's what you'll need: White paper measuring 30cm x 14cm Toilet paper roll (+ 2 spare) Decorative paper measuring 10cm x 15cm (most craft papers come as 12"x12" so you can cut this into 6"x4" pie...

Stampin' Up! Christmas - Gift Wrapping

Image
It's getting to that time! Have you finished your Christmas shopping yet?? I've almost finished...But my favourite part is actually the wrapping part! I wanted to show you how easy it is to make a beautifully decorated gift with Stampin' Up! products 😀 I have wrapped my gifts in some brown paper and Christmas wrapping paper I got from Kmart, and tied a ribbon around each - one using the Forever Greenery Trim, and the other one is a sneak peak from the new mini catalogue called Fine Art ⅜" Ribbon. I made these quick tags using some must-have punches - the sprig punch and the gleaming ornaments punch. I used the Snowflake Wishes set to decorate, and stamped-off once with Misty Moonlight ink to get a lighter image of the snowflakes. Let the punches do the work!
